GitHub Workshop + Elections!

Good evening, ACM-W!

We hope you've had a great break! This is just your routine newsletter to let you know that our next event will be a GitHub Workshop Next Monday, October 26th, from 6 - 7pm in Knowlton 109! If you've ever wanted to get started with GitHub but have never known where to start, or haven't used it in a while and need a refresher, then this event is for you! This event will be lead by our Vice President, Teaghan Knierim, so if you haven't had a chance to meet her, this would be a great opportunity to do so!

In addition to that, ACM and ACM-W will be having elections soon! If you weren't aware, ACM and ACM-W elections follow the calendar year, not the school year, hence why we're sending this now! If you'd like to get involved in planning events for this clubs and learn more about what we do, we'd love for you to express your interest. ACM-W is currently looking for a Vice President and a Marketing Chair for 2027. It's a really fun way to get into leading a club and you would get to be a part of leading a chapter of the largest computing club in the nation!

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for one of these positions, send an email to acmw@bw.edu by noon on Monday, November 7th with your preferred name and what position(s) you'd like to be nominated for. After all nominations are in, we'll send out a voting form so you all can vote for our new board members! Please note, since our elections are based on the calendar year, students planning to graduate this coming May are ineligible for ACM-W executive board positions. Feel free to send an email to us at acmw@bw.edu if you have any questions!

We hope to see you on Monday!

- Ann-Marie M.
President
