Active Minds strives to increase students' awareness of mental health issues and symptoms of mental illness, to serve as a liaison between students and mental health organizations in surrounding communities, and to provide educational resources and training to students. The mission of the American Sign Language Club is to create a community that will bring awareness to Deaf culture, community, and the use of American Sign Language to Baldwin Wallace students. Learning basic ASL will educate and expose students not only to the language, but to the Deaf culture as well. This will allow members to communicate with individuals who are hearing, deaf, and hard of hearing at an entry-level and apply these skills to their own lives.

Mission
The mission of the organization shall be to provide all students, regardless of major and experience, an equal opportunity to engage in theatre and promote creative expression in a supportive environment. We aim to allow non-BFA theatre majors the opportunity to participate in acting, directing, and script writing on a smaller level, without the pressure of competition against training professionals. We will create opportunities for personal and artistic growth through regular meetings, small-scale productions, and workshops.

This serves as a unique experience for students outside of the BFA theatre major. The organization will foster creativity and expression, enrich campus culture, and help students build their communication skills and confidence, especially in public speaking. Theatre encourages self-reflection and stepping out of one’s comfort zone, offering valuable life lessons along the way. Baldwin Wallace’s commitment to diversity is reflected by the organization’s desire to include all and provide theatrical opportunities to students who are largely intimidated by existing alternatives. The organization is open to students with no theatre experience, which promotes continuous education through new student engagement.
