Jacket Connect Officers Update

As an officer of your BW department or student organization on Jacket Connect, you have access to all the features within your student group/organization’s group page, including the website, message board, emails, events, forms and more.

In this Jacket Connect Newsletter, we'll provide resources to help you with customizing your group's website, updating group information, marketetiong your group to campus, provide messaging to campus and other ways to utilize Jacket Connect to your advantage.

Our Home Page
The Jacket Connect Officers Resources page is home to how-to videos, articles on best practices and other insights into Jacket Connect features.

Semester Prep
This page contains how-to videos and instructions for preparing your group page for the end of each semester. These include how to quick-edit your website (eg, change department hours), edit your group officers and update files, all helpful as we end this spring semester and prepare for summer. 

Social Media Resources
Mason Kuhr, BW Social Media Coordinator, has compiled resources for best practices for your group's social media channels. If you have any questions, you may contact Mason at mkuhr@bw.edu.

Digital Signage 
Use this form to submit slides to be displayed on campus digital displays. 

Photos
BW pictures can add life and color to your websites, newsletters, emails and more. For BW pictures, you can check out the BW Flickr page, BW Instagram and BW Twitter. 

Canva
Canva is a great resource for building posters, flyers, social media posts and more that can help promote your organization.

As BW's communication hub, University Relations can help you promote your major events (eg, fundraisers, community outreach, etc.).

Message Boards Can Do More for Your Department
Wondering what to do with your department/school's group page on Jacket Connect? Much like Faculty/Staff and Student message boards, your group page can be used to post messages to all your members, including students studying in your department's majors. One such example is the Dept. of Biology & Geology where Barb Rethas posts job opportunities, internship opportunities and Masters/Ph.D programs for the biology students. Learn how to create a new Job Opportunities channel on your group page.
