- Brief discussion of what SVA is and the benefits of being members.
- SVA Portal- once members join, they will have access to APEX, a career and education counseling program and mental health assistance.
- Regional Conferences- This year there were six regional conferences that we are considering sending SVA members to going forward.
- NATCon- The national conference for SVA members. This year being held in Colorado.
- Unfortunately, due to limited funding available, we will not be sending students to NATCon this year. We hope to build our finances and send several students next year.
- Leadership Roles and their responsibilities (all can be found on the Jacket connect SVA page.
- President - Guides the Chapter’s vision, represents it on campus and in the community, and ensures overall success
- Vice President – Drives programming, engagement, and recruitment to keep the Chapter active and thriving.
- Treasurer – Oversees finances and fundraising to fuel the Chapter’s mission and sustain its growth.
- Secretary- Manages communication, records, and promotion to keep members connected and informe
- The election process
- Leadership roles page has been launched on Jacket connect.
- Students interested in leadership roles have until Sept 26th to fill out the leadership role interest form.
- Elections will be held from Sept 29th-October 3rd in the jacket connect portal.

- SVA will meet every other month at the vet house and online as necessary.
- Each meeting will be recorded and shared in Jacket connect along with the meeting minutes.
- Fund-raising
- We have an opportunity to raise money through the Cleveland Monsters 50/50
- If anyone has a suggestion for fund-raising opportunities or activities, please send them to BWVets@BW.edu.
- Volunteer organizations/opportunities
- One organization we are looking to partner with is Honor Flight Cleveland.
- Volunteers could attend a return ceremony where we will welcome our veterans back.
- Volunteers could take the training and be a guide for a veteran in D.C.
- We are looking for more volunteer opportunities in our community. If you have any suggestions, please email bwvets@bw.edu.
