At Baldwin Wallace University, we offer paid student leadership opportunities through the David & Frances Brain Center for Community Engagement, built around our PILLARS model—a student-led, student-focused framework that develops the whole student by integrating:
✨ Professional development
🤝 Networking and relationship building
📚 Academic support and advancement
🎯 Co-curricular engagement
🌍 Social capital and career readiness
Our leadership structure is tiered to support students at every stage:
Exploring Leader – Entry point for students beginning their leadership journey
Committed Leader – For those ready to deepen their engagement and impact
Active Leader – High-impact student leaders guiding teams, mentoring others, and contributing at a strategic level
⚠️ Note: We accept only five first-year students each year into the Committed or Active Leader tiers. All students are encouraged to begin as Exploring Leaders and grow through structured experiences.
💡 Bonus Opportunity:
Participation in Brain Center programs increases eligibility and competitiveness for the DESICH Scholarship, a prestigious award supporting civic-minded student leaders with financial need.
