Learning Outcomes:
1. Students/Participants will prepare and perform Gospel music from a variety of eras, composers, and subgenres.
2. Students/Participants will learn their parts through three key elements of Gospel music: rote instruction, call and response, and improvisation.
3. Students/Participants will learn introductory components of Gospel music tradition: Religion, History, and Music.
4. Students/Participants will collaborate within small and large ensembles to inform phrasing, interpretation, and performance style for assigned and selected music.
5. Students/Participants will connect with peers, Baldwin Wallace University faculty and staff, and Northeast Ohio communities through the presentation of Gospel Music.
6. Students/Participants will be encouraged to be aware of how Gospel music impacts their being, mind, body, heart, and soul, giving space and time to be impacted by the Gospel music experience.
