Current Studies
Currently, student-led studies in the lab are examining 1) biomechanical factors related to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury risk, 2) movement changes during walking post-ACL reconstruction, and 3) the relationship between biomechanical risk factors for tibial stress fractures and relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S) symptoms in female runners. Studies provide students the opportunity to use three-dimensional motion capture systems, inertial measurement units, and a force plates in analyzing movement data. AHSW students have collaborated with other student researchers across campus in Engineering and Neuroscience. Student work has been published in and presented at local, national, and international conferences. Study findings have been presented recently at the following conferences:
