I'm trans, nonbinary, or genderqueer. How do I ensure that my Chosen Name/Pronouns are used on campus?
Staff and faculty who have not gone through the process of legally changing their name and/or gender, have the option to disclose a Chosen Name and Pronouns via the BW CENTRAL eforms. If you are a staff or faculty member and want to use a chosen name/pronouns, please review the Baldwin Wallace Chosen Name and Personal Pronoun Policy. To disclose a chosen name and/or pronouns, click on the "Chosen Name/Pronouns" form under Registration and Records.
If you have legally changed your name and gender, you should fill out the BW CENTRAL form for a Request for Change of Record. Click the Legal Name Change box and follow the directions including uploading the Court Order or Legal Name Change or valid US passport.
Both BW CENTRAL forms offers advice about updating how your name appears in your BW email and how to get a new ID. Make sure that you follow the steps to ensure that your name is updated in these important places!
It's a good idea to let your supervisor or chair and HR know how you would like people to refer to you.
I would like to be involved in making BW a more inclusive place for LGBTQ+ people, how can I help out?
