Hands and creative, the scene shop allows students the opportunity to aid in the creation of costumes for theatrical productions throughout the school year. No prior skills required!

Hands and creative, the scene shop allows students the opportunity to aid in the creation of sets for theatrical productions throughout the school year.
Roles include: Scenic Carpentar, Props Assistant, Scenic Painter, Lighting Technician, Sound Technician
The Lighting Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of lighting equipment and lighting storage spaces. The primary focus is on ensuring that the lighting design complements the overall artistic vision of the production and enhances the audience's experience. This position involves working closely with the lighting faculty, lighting supervisor, the lighting designer, stage manager, and other technical staff to achieve seamless and impactful lighting effects during live performances.
Props Assistants will work with designers, directors and the Scene shop staff with the build, purchase, rent, pull from stock, or borrow all the rehearsal and finalized props for all theater and dance productions.
Scenic Painters will work with designers, the Scenic Art Supervisor (head scenic painter) and the Scene Shop staff with painting, faux finishing and texturing scenery, back drops and props for all theater and dance productions.
Theatrical sound technician prepares soundboards and sound equipment for plays and events, as well as maintain the quality of sound throughout. They are responsible for checking sound levels and equipment functionality and running sound checks. Repairing and trouble shooting sound equipment, as well as maintaining the work areas to ensure safety and productivity are also included in job duties.
Scenic Carpenters will assist the Technical Director, Assistant Technical Director, Scenic Designers, and the Scene Shop staff with all scenery construction for the BW theater and Dance Department, assist in maintaining scene shop and theater space equipment and assist maintaining the physical spaces of the theaters, and support areas
