Join the BW_Jacket Wi-Fi Network on your MacBook

    Visit wifi.bw.edu

    Launch an internet browser on your device (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Enter wifi.bw.edu in the address bar of your internet browser, then press Enter or Go.

    Agree to the Terms & Conditions

    IMPORTANT: You must read and agree to the BW Wireless Terms of Use & User License Agreement/Disclaimer before joining the BW_Jacket WiFi Network.

    • Click or touch Terms & Conditions to read the BW Wireless Terms of Use & User License Agreement/Disclaimer.
    • Click or touch Privacy Policy to review the BW Privacy Policy
    • Click or touch the I agree to the Terms and Conditions box to acknowledge you have read the Terms & Conditions and will comply.
    • Click or touch the Continue button

    NOTE: You may need to accept the Terms & Conditions a second time.

    Enter your BW Email Address

    • Enter your BW Email Address in the email field.
    • Click Next.

    Sign in with your BW Credentials

    • Enter your BW Email Address in the Username field.
    • Enter your BW Password in the Password field.
    • Click Sign in.

    Approve Your Sign-in with MFA

    • Approve your account sign-in using the Microsoft Authenticator App and enter the number displayed on the screen into the app.
    • Enter the text code that was sent to your mobile device.

    Generate a Password

    NOTE: If this is your first time signing into wifi.bw.edu, you will need to generate a WPA2 Password.

    • Locate the Generate a WPA2 password section.
    • Click Generate Password

    Scroll to Manage Device(s)

    The WPA2 Password and QR Code options will be used for devices that do not have displays (voice assistants, smart light bulbs, etc.) Scroll down to the Manage Device(s) to enter the MAC Address on your MacBook.

    • Locate the MAC Address on your MacBook
    • Enter the MAC Address of your MacBook in the Mac Address field.
    • Enter a name for your device in the Device Name field.
    • Click or touch +Add

What is a MAC Address?

A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique identifier assigned to your MacBook's WiFi adapter. It helps networks recognize and manage devices.

    How to find the MAC Address on your MacBook

    • Click Settings
    • Click Network & internet
    • Click Wi-Fi
    • Click Hardware properties
    • Locate Physical address (MAC)

    The Physical address (MAC) is the MAC Address for your MacBook you need to enter in the Mac Address field.

    Verify your MacBook is registered

    Once you have added the Mac Address, verify your device is registered. You can double-check the Mac Address is entered correctly.

    Verify Private Wi-Fi address is turned off

    IMPORTANT: The Private Wi-Fi address must be turned off before connecting the BW_Jacket.

    To turn off the Random Address on your MacBook:

    • Click System Settings or Apple Menu > System Settings
    • Click Wi-Fi
    • Locate BW_Jacket in the list of available Wi-Fi networks
    • Click the three dots (...) next to BW_Jacket
    • Click Network Settings
    • Locate Private Wi-Fi address
    • Use the drop-down to set Private Wi-Fi address to off.

    Join the BW_Jacket Wi-Fi Network

    Click BW_Jacket to join the BW_Jacket Wi-Fi Network.
